The company's success story is picture-perfect: compared to 2009, DEGERenergie has increased its turnover by nearly 180 percent in the past year. “We followed the path of the great success of our early years,” company founder and managing director Artur Deger explains. “At the same time, we expanded and solidified our position as the world market leader in our sector in the most convincing way.”

To continue this stellar growth, DEGERenergie has hired new and highly qualified employees. The number of staff working in the company headquarters in Horb am Neckar in Germany has now increased from 40 at the end of 2009 to 55 – a growth of some 37 percent. Additionally, there are more than 350 employees of affiliate companies and suppliers in the vicinity who work exclusively for DEGERenergie.

“Our Service, Sales and Marketing departments in particular have been strengthened by the employment of new staff,” explains Michael Heck, who, as the vice president of Marketing and Sales, has been part of the company’s senior management since mid 2010. In this position, he is in charge of the continued internationalization of the business at DEGERenergie. “In the past year, we extended the company’s sphere of activity on a worldwide scale and we will continue to do so.” Among other things, DEGERenergie founded a subsidiary in North America and strengthened its sales activities in the USA, Canada, Greece, Italy and other countries. At the moment, the world market leader is creating production capacities in the USA.

“In the past year, the most important markets for solar tracking systems – thus our key markets – have been Italy, Greece and Canada. The market in Great Britain, for example, is also starting to open up,” says the head of the Marketing and Sales departments. “The great thing about the patented DEGERenergie Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology is that its yield is notably higher than that of any other tracking systems, and largely independent of the region where you are using this technology to produce solar power with.”

For 2011, DEGERenergie is aiming at another high double-digit increase in turnover. Michael Heck states: “The order situation is excellent at the moment and already surpassing the figures we had in our books at the beginning of the last year. This year, in addition to our day-to-day business, we will systematically promote our sales and marketing activities in all markets currently showing a favorable development. Several countries are very promising right now. In short: we expect a bright future ahead.”
