Energy Storage Conference & Trade Fair expands its cooperation with international partners

It has been possible to gain further strong partners for the conference and trade fair Energy Storage – International Summit for the Storage of Renewable Energies, including international associations such as China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA), India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), California Energy Storage Alliance (CESA), International Photovoltaic Equipment Association (IPVEA), Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (Eurobat).

The event takes place on 18 and 19 March in Düsseldorf. At Energy Storage 2013, practical and cost-effective storage technologies will be considered against the backdrop of current developments in the energy sector. Political conditions will be just as important a topic for discussion as questions concerning the financing, cost-effectiveness and integration of the main storage technologies.

Thanks to the new collaborations, Energy Storage is expanding its international orientation. The organisers, Messe Düsseldorf and Solarpraxis AG, are thus bringing together even more countries to exchange technical ideas and establish business contacts in Düsseldorf. The conference participants will benefit from the profound market knowledge of the representatives of international associations, who will be contributing to the session “Global Energy Storage Solutions” among other things. Some of the associations are also represented by their own trade fair stands, so there will be plenty of opportunity for individual discussions.

More than 350 conference guests from 29 countries already took part in the premiere of the Energy Storage Summit in the spring of 2012. Further partners of next year’s event include the EnergieAgentur.NRW, the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE), the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg (ISE), the National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Technology (NOW), the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance, Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) and the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion.

The Energy Storage conference and trade fair gathers experts from science, industry and politics around a single table. Keynote speakers include Federal Minister of the Environment Peter Altmaier as well as Jeremy Rifkin, President of the Foundation of Economic Trends. The internationally recognized scientist Prof. Eicke R. Weber, Spokesperson of the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance and Director of the Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg, is the Chairman of the Programme Committee.

In the matter of programme design he will be supported by other renowned experts such as Dr Klaus Bonhoff (NOW), Janice Lin (CESA), Dr Jens Tübke (Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT). In the framework of an accompanying trade fair, companies are presenting marketable applications and new concepts in the field of energy storage. Another new addition is the Production Technology Forum, which will be taking place on the 18th March in the afternoon. Discussions here will focus on current manufacturing technologies, application possibilities, challenges and the economics of battery production.
