GETCA 2022: A “green” future is a promising field for investment

Share

Currently, more and more questions are raised about the transition to renewable energy sources. Many countries have already begun to work on the introduction of new technologies and developments that contribute to the transition to a green economy. As one of the largest energy markets in Central Asia with a current-generation capacity of 12.9 gigawatts, Uzbekistan is well-positioned to address the sector's challenges and ensure the country's energy security. Uzbekistan has great potential for the use of renewable energy sources, namely hydro, solar, and wind energy. This potential is sufficient to reduce the country's dependence on natural gas, which provides 85% of the total electricity production.

From 18 to 20 May 2022, the only international exhibition of Green Energy Technologies in Uzbekistan – GETCA 2022, will start its work in Tashkent, which will become a business platform for the exchange of experience and innovations between domestic and foreign experts in this industry. This large-scale event for the Central Asian region is aimed at promoting the implementation of the “Energy Strategy of Uzbekistan” for the development of energy based on renewable energy sources.

The expected number of exhibitors is about 100 companies from 14 countries of the world, such as: China, Georgia, Great Britain, Germany, India, Italy, Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, UAE, USA, Uzbekistan. The targeted number of visitors: over 6500 people from over 23 countries. Uzbekistan takes a key place in the energy system of the Central Asian region.
