Gotion has already made significant strides in solid-state battery development, including the successful construction of the industry’s first 0.2 GWh pilot line. This innovative technology promises to address the critical challenges of electric vehicle adoption by offering superior performance metrics, including higher energy density (up to 350 Wh/kg), enhanced safety, and exceptional fast-charging capabilities. The Morocco facility will serve as the cornerstone of Gotion’s Euro-African strategy, leveraging the company’s technological expertise to support applications from electric vehicles (EVs) to renewable energy storage and industrial solutions. Building on this hub, Gotion is establishing a comprehensive upstream and downstream industrial chain across the region, creating a closed-loop system that ensures quality and efficiency at every stage. From raw material sourcing to cathode and anode production, battery manufacturing, and eventual recycling, this model strengthens supply chain security and underpins sustainable, responsible manufacturing. By extending this approach to both Europe and Africa, Gotion is laying the foundation for a resilient green energy ecosystem that connects the two continents. This project represents one of the largest utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Central Europe, with an energy capacity of 55MWh. Once operational, it will provide ancillary services to the grid. The project will significantly enhance grid stability in Slovakia and set a benchmark for selecting Gotion as a preferred partner in the V4 countries throughout the region. It also stands as the largest single order for Gotion’s Goettingen Plant, which caters to the European market with its “Made in Germany” approach. This strategy ensures high service quality, rapid responsiveness, and competitive cost efficiency.
