Jordan's Ahli Bank signs EPC contract for 1,5MW PV project

The Jordanian Ahli Bank signed on September 27th an EPC contract with the Joint Venture of German Phoenix Solar and Jordanian Al-Rokh for its 1,5MW solar project.
The Jordanian Bank has contracted the consultancy company E-Res Energy as the technical supervisor, manager of the supplier selection process, as well as the Employer’s Representative during the construction process of the 1,5MW project.
The 1,5MW PV power plant will supply part of Ahli Bank’s energy needs. The project – among the first within the Jordanian bank sector at the moment – will implement the “Wheeling” regulation on Renewable Energies promoted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Talking about the project, E-Res’ Managing Director, Umberto Albarosa, said: “The project reflects the will of Ahli Bank to lead the transition to Green Energy in Jordan, with dedicated financial and technical solutions providingfull support for the installation of autonomous Solar power generation for Industries, Commercial activities and for the residential sector.”
The peculiarity of the project lies on the fact that the energy produced by Ahli’s PV plant (built on a remote location) can be used by all the bank branches, independently from their location, thanks to the Wheeling regulation.
The photovoltaic single-axis modules are expected to produce in excess of 2200 kWh/kW per year.
The plant is expected to be constructed in six months.
