The 500MW parity PV project, the first Chinese 500MW unsubsidized PV power plant owned by State Power Investment Corporation (named SPIC), has started to generate electricity since Dec 2019. KSTAR has provided a turkey solution to the 500 MW PV project and offered benefits in the construction period and reduces the overall cost.
The 500MW project covers about 1334 hectares of saline-alkali land at Anda City, Hei Longjiang Province,China.The weather there is very cold. There is large temperature difference between day and night. The lowest temperature can drop below -40℃ at night, which has a high requirement for the inverter performance,including the operation and maintenance of the power station.
The local severe environment is a challenge for PV string inverter manufacturers. To overcome the challenge and meet customers demands on low cost electricity , KSTAR DC1500V Turnkey Solution, which is already operated successfully in many large-scale PV power projects worldwide, has been utilized and achieved full capacity grid connection for the 500MW parity PV project of SPIC.
KSTAR has supplied 200 units of 2.5 MW central inverters and more than 4800 PCS of 1500V combiner boxes. Due to the great cost reduction and efficiency increase, KSTAR 1500V PV system solution adopts no wearing parts and maintenance free design, which is much safer and more reliable. Moreover, the products have passed the extreme low-temperature test, and can be working well in cold conditions, which is fully applicable to the alpine region of northeast China.
KSTAR had previously supplied 1500V inverters for a 440MW PV project in Ukraine which is the second largest solar farm in Europe by installed capacity.
