ML System strengthens its position in Scandinavia

The Swedish project is the second large ML project with BIPV – after the office building in Stavanger – implemented in Scandinavia, where we are consistently strengthening our position. Among others, thanks to thermally insulated photovoltaic modules in the skylights and PV façade with a total area of 1100m2, manufactured by ML System, the hotel in Stockholm will be zero-energy building. This means that 100 percent of building’s energy demand will come from active components installed in it. The hotel, due to the application of our solar system solutions, is to fulfill an additional function – to inspire guests to lead a sustainable lifestyle. The company responsible for the implementation of the photovoltaic part for this project is Solkompaniet – a Swedish contractor in the solar industry. We plan to start the deliveries for this project, where Skanska is the main contractor, in the second quarter of 2020”, comments Dawid Cycoń, CEO in ML System.

The solar industry has been booming for a couple of years in Sweden. The traditional way is to install on the roofs, next step is to use also the facades”, says Johan Öhnell, chairman of the board in Solkompaniet.

Currently, ML co-implements several prestigious projects in Croatia, Norway and Italy, where, due to the complex nature of projects and high product quality expectations, investors decided to entrust the company with the production and delivery of BIPV modules. A building in Norway – the headquarters of the “oil & gas” management is particularly challenging, where standard glass mounted a few years ago on a ventilated facade had to be replaced. During a rehabilitation of a façade, a Norwegian contractor from the BIPV industry – Solenergi FUSen AS, replaces glass parts with colored glass-glass PV modules, without changing the facade appearance – which was particularly important for the customer. At the same time, the building's energy efficiency will increase significantly.

The Management Board of ML System expects that large interest of foreign customers in the company's innovative solutions will positively affect the achieved export sales.

In the first nine months of 2019, ML System generated 65.9 million PLN of consolidated sales revenue, 11.2 million PLN EBITDA and 3.8 million PLN net profit.
