Power-One strengthens its position in the South African market

Power-One, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of renewable energy and energy-efficient power conversion and management solutions, announced today that a roof-top installation using Power-One inverters has been completed. Realized by the Romano Group, the 35kWp project is one of several projects in the Power-One pipeline which has been completed in this country.
The emerging South African PV market is very attractive to Power-One with its promise of strong growth. As such, Power-One is looking to extend its presence in the country by working with its partners on projects of all sizes – from small roof-top installations to large-scale ground-mounted projects.
The Romano Group is one of South Africa’s most experienced PV system providers and one of Power-One’s first partners in the country. The company designed, built, and commissioned its first PV installation in South Africa deploying Power-One inverters. Since Power-One’s products are certified for the South African grid, Romano deployed AURORA TRIO inverters in combination with AURORA monitoring solutions for the roof-mounted installation.
In order to ensure a seamless project, Power-One’s technicians supported Romano on the construction site with all the necessary testing for the commissioning of the system. Built for a process automation company in Gauteng, South Africa, the 35kWp installation is expected to generate approximately 58,500 kWh per year.
