RFPs invited for major solar power pack program

The program is expected to create a reach for solar power packs within the large community numbering about 1,500 households in each of the districts of the country where it has a major presence (estimated to be about 30).

RFPs with technical specifications and commercial offers are invited for 0.5kW, 1kW, 2kW and 3kW solar power packs, to create an offering for all the households of this community, according to a statement issued by REECODE Energy Solutions’ CEO Bhupesh Trivedi.

Some members of the community will become agents of the solar power pack suppliers. The agents, upon receiving the required training, will be responsible for local sales, implementation and maintenance of the systems. The program also proposes that the agents will themselves buy the first unit of 1kW as a demo unit for their local geographical region and use it as a proof-of-concept to introduce the solution to all the community members.

For this program, REECODE Energy Solutions has received the mandate to empanel a maximum of six suppliers of solar power pack systems. This panel of suppliers will then work with the community leaders and agents across the country.

RFPs are expected to be received by April 7, 2012, following which suppliers will have to present themselves before the community leaders for possible empanelment.
