Solar Power Network to develop 12.5 MW of rooftop solar on 32 Trial supermarkets

Solar Power Network Japan K.K. (SPN), a distributed power generation company based in Tokyo and headquartered in Canada, is pleased to announce a partnership with Trial Company Inc., to develop rooftop solar power facilities on 32 stores developed by Trial Company.

The total output of the 32 systems is approximately 12.5MW, which will meet approximately 25% of Trial’s annual electricity demand. The project is being designed, built, and developed by SPN.
The facilities are grid connected with contracts under Japan’s Feed-In Tariff and all the electricity generated is sold under this scheme to the local power companies.
“SPN is pleased to support Trial in its quest to reduce its carbon footprint, contribute to the national renewable effort as well as provide an additional income stream. Using SPN’s approach we were able to equip buildings that were previously deemed as inaccessible to solar,” said Mr. Peter Goodman, CEO and President of Solar Power Network.
