Suntech’s First European C&I Energy Storage Project Goes Live in Bulgaria

As Europe accelerates renewable energy integration and energy independence efforts, businesses are increasingly seeking flexible energy solutions that can improve reliability, reduce operating costs, and maximize renewable energy utilization.
The Bulgarian project addresses the critical energy needs of a mushroom cultivation facility equipped with temperature- and humidity-controlled production systems that require uninterrupted power supply around the clock. Before the project implementation, the facility relied mainly on diesel generators for backup power, leading to challenges including high fuel costs, equipment maintenance expenses, emissions, and noise pollution.
Meanwhile, the facility’s existing photovoltaic system was limited to direct self-consumption, preventing the full utilization of surplus solar energy. By integrating Suntech’s advanced energy storage solution, the project enables smarter energy scheduling, improved renewable energy utilization, and enhanced power resilience.
The system supports time-of-use energy management, allowing stored solar power to be utilized more efficiently according to electricity demand and grid conditions, helping maximize the economic value of renewable energy assets.
