Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk 2026 and CleanTech Xpo join forces to create Belgium’s leading platform for the sustainable transition
On 23 and 24 September 2026, Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk and CleanTech Xpo will come together to create the leading meeting place for professionals driving the energy and sustainability transition. By combining their strengths, the two exhibitions will offer a unique platform at Kortrijk Xpo where innovative energy technologies and sustainable business solutions converge.
While Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk focuses on integrated energy technologies such as solar power, battery storage, e-mobility, heat pumps and smart energy management, CleanTech Xpo brings together companies, research institutes and industry experts specialising in water, air and soil management, the circular economy and decarbonisation. Physically connecting both events creates a comprehensive platform that responds to the growing demand for cross-sector collaboration.
One visit, two complementary exhibitions
Today’s sustainability challenges can no longer be solved within the boundaries of a single sector. Companies are increasingly looking for integrated solutions where energy efficiency, circularity and environmental technologies work hand in hand.

Belgium’s energy market is rapidly evolving
The seminar programme reflects this integrated approach. Industry experts, policymakers and business leaders will share their insights on topics including solar energy, grid congestion, smart energy management, battery storage, circular business models, decarbonisation, green hydrogen and the impact of evolving legislation and regulations.
These topics have never been more relevant. According to research firm Dutch New Energy Research, Belgium has now reached 12.7 GWp of installed solar PV capacity. To achieve the national target of 15.6 GWp by 2030, approximately 3.5 GWp of additional capacity is still required, with around 1 GW expected to be added during 2026 alone. At the same time, demand for energy storage is accelerating rapidly. Following 519 hours of negative electricity prices on the day-ahead market in 2025, and already 282 hours during the first half of 2026, Belgium is investing heavily in large-scale battery storage. The country currently has around 0.7 GW of utility-scale battery capacity, while transmission system operator Elia estimates that approximately 12.34 GW will be required by 2034. The electrification of transport also continues to gather pace, with more than 900,000 fully electric and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles now on Belgian roads, supported by over 111,700 charging points nationwide.
These developments highlight the growing need for expertise in renewable energy, energy storage, smart energy management, flexibility, and e-mobility. These key themes will be central to the fourth edition of Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk and closely align with the decarbonisation, circularity, and environmental technology focus of CleanTech Xpo.
Industry experts share tomorrow’s solutions
The seminar programme of Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk is being developed in collaboration with leading industry organisations, including ODE (together with technology platform PV-Vlaanderen), EDORA, EV Belgium and Flux50.
Sessions will cover the latest developments in solar energy, battery storage and smart energy management for businesses – including peak shaving, energy cost optimisation and flexibility markets – as well as the future of solar, storage and energy management in the residential market. Additional topics include the electrification of vans and heavy-duty transport in Belgium, new charging infrastructure requirements taking effect in 2027, fire safety for residential battery systems and sustainable heating with heat pumps under the new 2027 regulations. The full seminar programme will be announced at the end of August.
The CleanTech Xpo seminar programme is developed in cooperation with partners including VLAIO, VITO, Voka, VIVES and Denuo. The synergy between both exhibitions offers visitors a broader view of the challenges and opportunities shaping the sustainable transition.

The events are exclusively open to industry professionals. Visitors can attend free of charge by registering with invitation code INVITE26. Without a registration code, admission is €75 (excluding VAT) per person. A visitor badge for Sustainable Solutions Kortrijk also provides free access to CleanTech Xpo, and vice versa.
