Expert in battery applications across all areas

Following a career in the Royal Air Force and 4 years with two international aerospace companies, Wilson moved to the technology firm Saft and then to the battery manufacturer Leclanché, where he oversaw the company’s entry onto the UK and Irish markets. Before joining TESVOLT, he was a battery expert within the motor vehicle team at Ricardo and started his own consulting firm in the field of energy storage.

Wilson’s primary focus is on business development and customer relationship management. During his many years in the energy storage field, he has worked on projects in the watt to the megawatt range for across all applications areas on land, at sea and in the air. He is now concentrating on stationary applications in the industrial and commercial sector.

Growing market in the British Isles

“We’re seeing enormous growth in the UK and Irish markets and we’re delighted that we now have the capable and well-connected Lawrie Wilson on board to continue opening up these markets for our battery storage systems,” says Michael Geib, Vice President Sales at TESVOLT.

In light of rising energy prices and the debate around raw material supply, energy efficiency and independence are playing an increasingly important role in the UK. This is set to drive up demand for large-scale battery systems as a way of cutting costs and spreading risks.

Over the last year, TESVOLT has stepped up the expansion of its international sales activities in order to meet the growing global demand for efficient lithium-ion storage systems, especially for industry and commerce. “TESVOLT’s technology sets new standards of quality and cost efficiency, and things like this get people talking,” says Mr. Wilson, “so I can hardly wait to help write the next chapter of the company’s success story.”
