TÜV Rheinland and EnergyAgency.NRW launch new international forum for module technology

Share

The main topics will be the latest developments in module and component technology. The experts will hold lectures and discuss questions of characterisation and new methods of analysis, reliability and practical application. The main topic at one of the sessions will be energy storage and associated safety issues. The forum will also focus on the changes and rapid developments in global PV markets as well as major technological and economic factors.

In 2018, TÜV Rheinland's forum will be increasingly tailored to international participants and will be held in English and German. Professional simultaneous translators will help you follow the technical lectures. The forum is tailored for technical experts, such as manufacturers of PV modules and PV components, planners, installers and operators of PV power plants as well as decision-makers, investors and asset managers.

Quality as a key factor

The forum continues the expert tradition of TÜV Rheinland: “Since 1999, our Module Technology Workshop, as one of the leading events in the sector, has tracked technological developments as well as trends in the markets. This is something we are now driving forward internationally,” said Jörg Althaus, who is responsible for TÜV Rheinland's solar business in Germany, India, Africa and the Middle East, and who is also chairman of the conference.

Carl-Georg Graf von Buquoy, manager of the Photovoltaics sector at EnergyAgency.NRW, stressed the significance of the topic for the domestic economy: “Even if the majority of solar modules is manufactured abroad, German engineering still plays a crucial role in the production of the modules themselves. For this reason, it makes a lot of sense to hold an event such as this, so that the top experts in the solar sector can exchange ideas on future module technology.”

The schedule for the two-day conference will highlight changes and trends in production, module technology and solar energy markets worldwide. Other sessions on the agenda will address the development of test and measuring technologies, as well as storage systems. The PV Module Technology & Applications Forum is aimed at manufacturers, developers, planners, investors and decision-makers in the solar industry.
