Recently, TÜV Rheinland Greater China, a leading international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, has issued the VDE-AR-E 2510-50 and VDE-AR-E 2510-2 certifications to Pylontech for its energy storage system, M7. In parallel, TÜV Rheinland and Pylontech have jointly released the White Paper on the High Environmental Adaptability for Commercial and Industrial Liquid-Cooling Battery Energy Storage Systems, providing valuable industry insights into environmental adaptability and technological innovation in energy storage.
The global energy storage market continues to expand at a rapid pace, driven by the growing integration of renewable energy sources and the modernization of power grids. According to InfoLink’s energy storage supply chain database, global newly installed capacity reached 175.4 GWh in 2024. China, the Americas, and Europe together contributed to over 90% of installations. In 2025, the market is forecast to add 221.9 GWh of capacity—representing a 26.5% year-on-year growth.
The VDE-AR-E 2510-50 standard focuses on the safety of energy storage systems, covering electrical safety, battery safety, and electromagnetic compatibility. The VDE-AR-E 2510-2 standard provides technical specifications for grid connection, ensuring safe and stable grid operations. These certifications, based on standards developed by the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), highlight Pylontech’s dedication to product compliance and quality control, reinforcing its competitive edge in the global market.
To deepen the industry’s understanding of energy storage adaptability, TÜV Rheinland and Pylontech jointly released the White Paper on the High Environmental Adaptability for Commercial and Industrial Liquid-Cooling Battery Energy Storage Systems. The white paper explores key factors influencing deployment, including application scenarios, market drivers, environmental conditions, and case studies. It underscores the growing importance of environmental adaptability in ensuring the stable and efficient operation of energy storage systems under varied conditions.
“Pylontech remains committed to providing high-performance, high-safety energy storage solutions that support the global transition to sustainable energy,” said Geoffrey Song, Vice President of Pylontech. “With accelerating market demand, we are confident in our ability to deliver innovative and reliable products for commercial and industrial users worldwide.”
Weichun Li, Global Head of Power Electronics and Vice President of Solar & Commercial Products at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, added, “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Pylontech to support the high standards required in this fast-evolving sector. Together, we aim to promote safer, smarter, and more sustainable energy storage solutions.”
TÜV Rheinland will continue to leverage its global expertise and technical leadership to assist energy storage enterprises in meeting regulatory and quality requirements—facilitating their entry into international markets and supporting the development of the green energy sector.
