TÜV Rheinland’s 12th “All Quality Matters” Solar & ESS Summit Concludes in Suzhou: Defining the Future of High-Quality Energy Development
Under the theme “Crossing Mountains and Seas, Going Steady and Far,” the summit gathered over 200 industry leaders, authoritative experts, and key stakeholders. As the photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage sectors enter a critical phase of transformation, this year’s event served as a strategic platform to navigate the complexities of grid integration, supply chain resilience, and the emerging synergy between computing power and energy.
Navigating the “Golden Track”: Quality in a Volatile Market
The summit opened with high-level strategic insights regarding the industry’s trajectory. Frank Holzmann, Global Senior Vice President of Solar & Commercial Products at TÜV Rheinland Group, emphasized the organization’s enduring commitment to safety and quality over the past 12 years. He reaffirmed TÜV Rheinland’s dual mission as a “Guardian of Safety” and “Enabler of Quality,” pledging continued support for a sustainable energy future.
Junfeng Li, Executive Council Member of China Energy Research Society (CERS), delivered a candid address, urging enterprises to maintain strategic focus amidst price pressures. He highlighted that
while market fluctuations are inevitable, the “bottom line of quality must not be compromised.”
Echoing this sentiment, Ziyue Wang, Head of China Regional Research at BloombergNEF, described the sector as a “Golden Track.” Despite short-term adjustments, he noted that the long-term momentum for high-quality development remains unshaken.
Addressing High-Proportion Grid Integration: New White Papers Released
A focal point of the summit was addressing the technical challenges of high-proportion renewable energy integration. With renewable energy generation in the EU expected to increase rapidly by 2030 and new loads like data centers surging, grid stability is paramount.
To address this, TÜV Rheinland officially released the White Paper on “Global Renewable Energy Grid Integration and Grid-Forming Technologies.” This comprehensive document provides a full-chain compliance guide for manufacturers and developers, covering:
· Grid-Forming Control: Detailed response requirements for phase, amplitude, and frequency jumps.
· Key Capabilities: Testing frameworks for voltage source characteristics, virtual inertia, and black start capabilities.
· Modeling: Parameter systems for RMS and EMT simulation models.
Additionally, TÜV Rheinland released the “Key Technical Data on High-precision Measurements and Tests of Photovoltaic Modules of 2026.” This report offers a deep dive into the performance of
mainstream technologies (PERC, TOPCon, SHJ, BC), signaling a market shift from a pure “efficiency race” to “value competition.”
2026 “All Quality Matters” Awards Announced
A highlight of the Summit, the “All Quality Matters” Awards once again recognized outstanding contributions across the solar and storage value chain. This year’s program featured 23 award categories spanning PV products, solar-storage-charging solutions, and power plants and supply chain segments.
In total, 22 enterprises were honored. Among them:

Celebrating Honorary and Innovation
The summit served as a stage to honor the pioneers driving the industry forward. In a special ceremony, Mr. Dinghuan Shi, former Counselor of the State Council, former President of the China Renewable Energy Society and Chairman of the Committee of Experts of the Energy Investment Professional Committee of the Investment Association of China, was awarded the “PV Honorary Award” for his outstanding contributions to the industry’s development.
The “All Quality Matters” Innovation Awards recognized breakthroughs that bridge the gap between laboratory data and market application. Winners included Huawei Digital Power (Grid-Forming Energy Storage), Longi Green Energy (PV Module Metallization), Beijing HyperStrong (High-Voltage Cascaded Energy Storage), Xi’an Weiguang Energy (Solid-State Transformer Technology), and Industrial Securities (Solar & Storage REITs). These awards underscore the industry’s shift toward technological differentiation and value creation.
Shaping the Ecosystem: Computing-Power Synergy & Supply Chain Resilience
The Leaders’ Forum featured robust discussions on the “Computing-Power Synergy” and supply chain resilience. Weichun Li, Senior Vice President of Solar & Commercial Products, Greater China; Senior Vice President of Global Power Electronics Business, TÜV Rheinland Group, noted that the industry is moving from homogenous competition to value creation. He emphasized that as the industry enters
“deep waters” of globalization, resilience and core capabilities are the keys to long-term success.
Looking Ahead
As the 12th edition of the summit concludes, TÜV Rheinland continues to leverage its global network to translate cutting-edge technical requirements into actionable testing and certification services. By helping enterprises identify risks early and accelerate market access, TÜV Rheinland is fostering a global energy transition that is not only fast but fundamentally secure and reliable.
