Vikram Solar planning for cell manufacturing joint venture to cater growing demand for cells made in India
Kolkata based Tier 1 manufacturer Vikram Solar is looking to expand their upstream footprint by getting into solar cell production as well. The internationally active manufacturer of PV modules and EPC solutions provider is revealing its current expansion plans. Besides their plans to expand their module production capacity to 350MW cumulative by Q2 2015 and 600MW cumulative by Q4 2015, it is currently evaluating several options including joint venture agreements with leading global cell players to set up a 250 MW cell manufacturing plant by Q1 2016 to cater to the ever increasing demand for cells made in India.
