Although only a few small research and development (R&D) storage systems were installed in the Middle East and North Africa to date, the potential for storage in these regions is huge. According to a recent report from the International Finance Corporation, energy storage will be used by several MENA countries to help integrate new generation capacity from clean energies and improve the grid’s stability and reliability. This session will take a close look at the potential in commercial and industrial PV markets across the MENA region. For example, how electricity energy storage (EES) can ensure a predictable power supply in regions with grid outages and other constraints.
