Algeria’s first mounting system manufacturer

SPS, an Algerian metal sandwich panel manufacturer, has signed a partnership deal with Dubai-based mounting system provider Qi-energy to begin production of mounting structures for PV systems in Algeria.

Algeria plans 4 GW of solar tenders

The government has announced a plan to deploy new PV capacity at a mega site over the next four years. Around 800 MW of capacity is expected to be tendered annually up to 2024. To be eligible, it is anticipated all modules, cables and mounting structures must have been made in Algeria.

Algerian telecoms and renewable energy company Milltech is planning to begin producing panels at a new factory next month. The modules made there will chiefly be distributed in Algeria but the company also hopes to export.

Algeria’s Condor claims PV business is fully operational

The Algerian electronics manufacturer said its solar business has not filed for insolvency. The company said it continues to operate as ‘normal’. The company added, it is working on two solar projects with a combined generation capacity of 100 MW.

Algerian 150 MW solar tender secures final price of $0.069/kWh – and only a third of the capacity

The Algerian Electricity and Gas Regulation Commission has concluded a tender launched in June. The one solar project selected will sell power at DZD8.28/kWh. The authority reportedly only published ceiling prices for energy bids on the day the exercise was completed.

Algerian diesel-solar tender concludes with lowest bid of 11 cents

State-owned gas and power provider Sonegalz intends to develop five hybrid projects in off-grid areas in the south of the country. The highest bid came in at the equivalent of $0.13/kWh.
