The publication of the law in Argentina’s Official Journal marks the entry into force of the new rules for the distributed generation of renewable energy sources under net metering.

The Chinese solar company won the right to develop 104 MWp of PV through a partnership with Mitsui & Co., in the third long-term auction held in Mexico last month.

The development banks of Brazil and Germany will jointly support, among other things, solar, wind, mini-hydro and biomass power projetcs.

Leading module manufacturer, Canadian Solar has been awarded a 112 MW project in Brazil, after the country allocated around 574 MW of PV in its recent A-4 power auction.

The developers of the five newly selected PV projects, which were initially excluded from the round, have agreed to reduce their prices to the levels of those selected in late November. The additional solar capacity has raised the total assigned power for PV up to 816.3 MW.

The Villanueva III projects, part of the 754 MW Villanueva complex, has started to inject power to the Mexican grid nine months ahead of schedule. Part of the solar park is still under construction by Italian energy company Enel.

Jamaica’s largest PV project will be located at Paradise Park, Westmoreland, and will sell power to the local grid at $0.0854/kWh.

Interested developers will have time until February 7, 2018, to submit their projects proposals. All of the tendered areas are in Chile’s northern region of Atacama.
