UK Solar rate hike could add GBP 1.8 million to schools tax bill

New research suggests that schools in England and Wales that have installed solar panels will collectively face an additional GBP 1.8 million in taxes, as the Government pushes forward plans to remove tax exemptions on small commercial installations.

European Commission approves new schemes for French solar

Two new programs supporting both residential and largers scale solar will enable France to develop around 2.6 GW of new projects, pushing the country to reach its EU set target of producing 23% of its energy from renewable sources.

First Solar to supply modules for 140 MW project in Australia

The U.S. developer today announced it will supply its advanced thin film PV modules to the 140 MW Sun Metals Solar Farm. The project will supply electricity to the Sun Metals zinc refinery, owned by the Korea Zinc Group.
