The Chinese manufacturer has signed an agreement with Enel Green Power Chile to supply its 1500 Vdc central inverters to a PV plant at Copiapó, the largest to be built in the country to date.
The capacity comes from two solar parks and five wind power plants awarded firm energy obligations for 2022-2023. The Reliability Charge auctions were created by the Colombian government to ensure power supply during water shortages.
Two facilities were sold along with a 90 MW wind power plant generating the vendor around €700 million. Both solar projects were awarded 20-year PPAs in the most successful auction held by the Brazilian government, in August 2015.
After being commissioned in stages, the Bungala Solar Farm near Port Augusta in South Australia is now fully operational. At 220 MW/275 MWdc, Bungala is Australia’s largest solar farm completed to date.
The site is the first to be constructed after last year’s exercise. A total of 3.9 GW was awarded, signaling a comeback for the Spanish solar market. The president of Spain’s solar association says there is 21 GW potential projects waiting to compete in future tenders.
Enel Green Power North America and Raptor Maps will develop AI-based drones to reduce O&M costs. Kicking off this month, the project will see its first batch of 30 field workers trained by the end of the year. Both companies already have the relevant technology in their portfolios.
The Ngonye project proposed by Italian energy giant Enel Group and Zambia’s Industrial Development Corporation, will be financially underpinned by senior loans of up to $10 million from the International Finance Corporation, up to $12 million from IFC-Canada Climate Change Program and up to $11.75 million from the European Investment Bank.
The Nova Olinda project will be located near Ribera do Piauí, in the microregion of Alto Médio Canindé.
Through its Brazilian subsidiary Enel Green Power Brasil Participações, Italian developer Enel has completed two projects in Brazil’s north-eastern state of Bahia, with a total capacity of 158 MW.
The Sol Real project is the largest PV plant built in the Central American country to date.
