Singulus gets new CIGS order

The German PV equipment provider will supply several CIGS production systems of the type TENUIS II for wet-chemical coating processes to an unnamed Chinese manufacturer.

Meyer Burger to end manufacturing in Switzerland

Equipment manufacturer Meyer Burger plans to end production at its headquarters site in Thun, Switzerland, as part of an updated cost efficiency program. All production activities in Thun will be discontinued by the end of 2018, though the site will continue to serve as Meyer Burger’s headquarters.

REC Group places equipment order with Aurora Solar Tech

Aurora Solar Technologies today announced that it has received an order from Norway headquartered vertically integrated PV manufacturer REC Group for its inline cell measurement equipment. The order is expected to ship in January 2018.

The Japanese equipment provider also reported an increase in sales of 19.2% for fiscal year 2017. In the machinery business, the company said, all of sales of the large-scale deal were booked as planned.

VDMA: German solar equipment providers report 51% increase in sales in Q2

According to the latest statistics from the German Engineering Federation or VDMA (Verbandes Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau), PV equipment providers in Germany are benefiting primarily from investments in Asia. The demand for thin-film technology contributed to the growth in sales in the second quarter, although order intake dropped during the period.

Midsummer picks up new thin-film equipment orders

The Swedish PV equipment supplier has received an order for two of its DUO thin-film cell manufacturing lines. Midsummer has not named the company which placed the order, but states that it is a repeat order from an existing customer.

Singulus posts positive EBIT for 1st half 2017

The German equipment manufacturer reported a positive EBIT of €2.5 million for the first half of the year, a big improvement on the same period in 2016, when its EBIT was negative €9.3 million. EBIT for the second quarter stands at €1.1 million.
