The global market stagnated last year, with around 98 GW deployed. For 2019, the experts expect stronger solar growth, provided there are no setbacks in China.
According to a new report from the PV Market Alliance (PVMA), the global solar PV market will only be marginally affected by the recent China policy decisions, and will grow to become an up to 200 GW market by 2022. Diversification will continue, with new segments accounting for up to 25% of the entire market by this time.
Along with the majority of other market analysts, EuPD Research is forecasting a drop in solar installations in 2017, mainly as a result of a reduced installation target in China, which is likely to ramp up the pressure on PV manufacturers.
