Italy has secured 939 MW of new PV projects, with Spanish group Repsol alone planning 825 MW of solar development, including its first two arrays in Puglia. Comal and Sonnedix have likewise unveiled new PV projects in Sardinia and Lazio.

The TotalEnergies-controlled solar manufacturer will secure an, as yet undetermined chunk of a new €118.6 million low-carbon innovation fund to start producing its frameless, glass-free solar roofing products at Porcelette, in northeastern France.

Repsol has switched on 90 MW of PV in Spain and Amazon wants to build another large scale solar facility in the country. Both projects are located in the central region of Castilla-La Mancha.

Spain’s Repsol will develop a €4.5 million ($5.5 million) pilot project to produce green hydrogen with floating PV for the Santander Port Authority. It will be completed in December 2023.

Oil and gas business Repsol has launched Solmatch, the nation’s first large solar community.

Repsol announced the start of construction on its 126 MW Kappa solar park. The project consists of three plants located in the municipality of Manzanares, Ciudad Real. It will require a total investment of €100 million.

After turning to clean energy last year, the Spanish oil company plans to deploy 4.5 GW of renewables generation capacity by 2024.

U.S. fund KKR and Spanish group Gestamp have reportedly begun X-Elio’s sale process. Oil business Repsol and power company Iberdrola are said to be among the interested buyers circling the PV project developer.

After announcing its plan to invest in renewables in May, the Spanish oil group has now made its first move in the solar energy sector by acquiring a €210 project near Badajoz, in the southern Spanish region of Extremadura.
