Sparx launches $18 million renewables fund in Japan

A unit of Tokyo-based asset manager Sparx has set up a new JPY 20 billion (US$17.95 million) fund to invest in operational renewable energy projects throughout Japan. 

Sparx posts $4 million profit in Q1

Japanese asset manager Sparx has reported a profit attributable to owners of the company of ¥460 million ($4.15 million) in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, as it connected roughly 20 MW of new PV capacity to the grid.

Sparx completes 13 MW near Tokyo

Sparx Green Energy and Technology — a unit of Tokyo-based asset manager Sparx — has switched on a 12.8 MW solar project in eastern Japan. It claims that the installation — which stretches roughly 10 kilometres between Shiroi and Inzai, Chiba prefecture — is the “longest” PV project in Japan.

Sparx’s clean-energy investments hit $1.2 billion in Japan

Solar accounts for nearly 92% of its 307 MW renewables portfolio, with total investment reaching ¥137.3 billion ($1.2 billion) by the end of January 2017.
