AUBONNE, Switzerland — June 24, 2026 — Perovskia Solar AG, a Swiss deep-tech pioneer manufacturing custom-designed perovskite photovoltaic cells for IoT and smart devices, today announced it has been awarded a prestigious €2.25 million (~CHF 2.1M / USD 2.4M) EIC Accelerator Grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC).

In addition to the non-dilutive grant, the EIC Fund has signalled its intent to co-invest in Perovskia’ s upcoming financing round, with the potential to match up to 50% of the round subject to standard due diligence. This dual backing positions Perovskia among an elite group of European deep-tech companies receiving both rigorous technological validation and institutional growth capital from the European Union.

Validation from Europe’s Most Competitive Deep-Tech Program

The EIC Accelerator is widely regarded as the gold standard for high-impact innovation funding in Europe. With thousands of applicants annually and a rigorous selection rate of just 5–7%, the program is designed exclusively for breakthrough technologies capable of disrupting or creating global markets.

Perovskia’ s selection follows an exhaustive, multi-stage evaluation process conducted by independent scientists, industry experts, and seasoned venture investors who validated the company’s technical superiority, commercial traction, and scalable business model.

Creating a New Category in Energy Harvesting: Powered by Light Designed for Life

Perovskia is solving one of the IoT industry’s most critical bottlenecks: how to power billions of connected devices sustainably without relying on disposable batteries. While traditional indoor solar solutions are restricted by rigid, standard form factors and low light performance, Perovskia’ s digitally printed perovskite platform delivers:

* Bespoke Integration: Tailored shapes, dimensions, and custom voltage/current outputs seamlessly integrated into any device design.

* Superior Indoor Performance: Industry-leading efficiency optimized for low-light and ambient indoor environments.

* Scalable Swiss Quality: High-throughput digital manufacturing that ensures industrial-scale volume with Swiss-engineered reliability.

The company is already shipping its advanced cells to international clients for applications spanning smart home automation, electronic shelf labels (ESLs), asset tracking, medical wearables, and consumer electronics.

Accelerating the Roadmap to Global Leadership

The EIC-funded project will fast-track Perovskia’ s strategic roadmap to establish its technology as the global benchmark for indoor energy harvesting. Key initiatives under the grant include:

* Maximizing power conversion efficiency beyond current commercial limits.

* Accelerating automated manufacturing throughput to meet surging global demand.

* Extending operational lifetime and hardware durability in diverse environments.

*Expanding a robust intellectual property portfolio with new patents.

Commercial Momentum Across Global Markets

The award caps a 24-month period of rapid commercial scaling for the Empa spin-off. Perovskia has successfully transitioned from lab-scale innovation to volume production, securing recurring revenue contracts with major device manufacturers across Europe, North America, and Asia. Notably, the company’s robust technology has also begun expanding into highly demanding specialized segments, including space applications.

Investor Momentum

Perovskia is currently engaging with strategic and financial investors to support its next phase of growth, manufacturing scale-up, and international expansion. The recent EIC Accelerator award and potential EIC Fund participation further strengthen the company’s financing strategy and growth trajectory.

“Securing the EIC Accelerator grant is a tremendous validation of our technology, our team, and our market vision,” said Anand Verma, CEO & Co-Founder of Perovskia Solar AG. “We believe that the era of disposable batteries in electronics is coming to an end. Every connected device should be self-powered by environmental light. This funding and institutional backing allow us to aggressively scale our production and solidify Perovskia’ s position as the undisputed leader in custom indoor photovoltaics.”
