Successful premiere of the ‘PCIM Europe digital days 2020’

The ‘PCIM Europe digital days 2020’ enjoyed a successful premiere last week. The international exhibition and conference for power electronics took place for the first time in an online format. The main focus of the event was a virtual lecture program with more than 300 conference and forum presentations. Some 4,506 participants used the interactive networking opportunities intensively.

In its digital form, PCIM Europe was once again the meeting place for power electronics experts in the industry. During the two-day online event, 4,506 suppliers and users took advantage of the opportunity to expand their specialist knowledge and broaden their professional networks. A total of 74 companies took part in the “PCIM Europe digital days” event as exhibitors showcased company profiles, product innovations and job offers. Among them were industry giants such as Siemens, Infineon, Rohm Semiconductor, Mitsubishi Electric, Varta and Wolfspeed.

The agenda of the comprehensive lecture program of the conference and virtual exhibition included more than 200 oral and poster presentations, keynotes, expert lectures, forums and discussion on live chat threads. The conference proceedings contain all the contributions of the PCIM Europe Conference 2020 and can be ordered online.

The professional offering was rounded off by a matchmaking session, a business speed-dating event and an attractive supporting program including an early-bird café and an after-work session with a DJ. The participants exchanged information in more than 25,700 chats.

“We are very pleased with the success of our PCIM digital days [event],” said Petra Haarburger, MD of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “However, the personal encounter remains important and cannot be replaced digitally. All the more reason for us to look forward to PCIM Europe next year in Nuremberg. However, we are convinced that digital formats will continue to be a useful addition in the future.”
