Aerial thermography for analyzing solar asset health

Traditionally, IV curve tracing has been the primary method for identifying issues within operational solar arrays. While IV curve tracing has its merits, it is a meticulous process using subtractive investigation that can be time-consuming and sometimes ineffective.

Capitalizing on economies of scale, the affordable collection of thermal data from drones and airplanes is reshaping traditional solar health diagnostics. Thermal imaging can reveal solar health defects down to the cell level, while also providing situational awareness by pinpointing the location and source of the problem.

In this pv magazine Webinar, we explore whether thermography can effectively replace IV curve tracing for solar diagnostics and inspection and learn what roles IV curve tracing can serve as a tool in the toolbox. By comparing the strengths and weaknesses of each method, we’ll uncover the most effective approach to maintaining optimal solar facility health and performance. Join us and discuss with the experts, Deanna Amodeo, analysis operations lead and Kevin Monsour, business development manager from Zeitview.

pv magazine Webinar content:

  • Overview the evolution of solar health assessment
  • Explore aerial thermography and its impact on cost-effectiveness and project efficiency
  • Discuss integration strategies for aerial thermography
  • Q&A

Questions can be submitted beforehand in the comments window when registering or in the chat during the live webinar. Ryan Kennedy, editor at pv magazine USA, will be the moderator of this webinar.
