Go Energy and SARCO Announce Strategic Alliance for Low-Carbon Fuels Project in Saudi Arabia
GO ENERGY GROUP, through its parent company Go Energy USA Corporation, and Clean Energy Co, a Saudi Arabian company within the listed Ethraa Group and working alongside its subsidiary SARCO, announce a strategic agreement to advance the development of a new low-carbon fuels project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is being developed with an export-oriented business model, with Europe and Asia identified as key target markets.
A phased development plan
The project is planned to begin with an initial production capacity of approximately 50,000 tonnes per year. A three-phase development strategy is intended to scale capacity progressively, with the ambition of reaching up to 400,000 tonnes per year at full build-out. The final configuration, product slate, capacity ramp-up and investment decisions will be determined through the ongoing technical, commercial, regulatory and feasibility work.
Engineering and technology development underway
Engineering design activities have commenced. The partners intend to evaluate and deploy advanced technologies designed to support the production of low-carbon fuels, with a focus on performance, efficiency and suitability for international markets. Further engineering, feasibility, permitting, infrastructure and other project studies will be undertaken before a final investment decision and the start of construction.
Subject to the successful completion of the required studies, approvals and development milestones, the partners currently expect the project to enter operation in the first quarter of 2029.
Targeting European and Asian demand
The project is intended to serve demand for low-carbon fuels across Europe and Asia. These markets are seeing growing interest in lower-carbon energy and feedstock options across a range of sectors. The partners will assess the most appropriate products and routes to market as the project advances, taking account of customer requirements, applicable standards and evolving regulatory frameworks.
GO ENERGY GROUP | CLEAN ENERGYA strengthened partnership and a new strategic focus
The companies previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the development of a renewable ammonia plant. Following a strategic review, the parties have agreed to conclude that MOU and formalise this new cooperation focused on the emerging low-carbon fuels sector. The decision reflects a shared intention to align their collaboration with the market opportunity now being pursued, while reinforcing the broader strategic relationship between Go Energy Group and Clean Energy Group.
