Greener study ranks Sunova Solar 5th of the most remembered PV brands in Brazil
Sunova Solar is delighted to announce that the latest study by Greener – a research and consultancy company specialized on PV solar energy – shows a tremendous increase in brand recognition among Brazilian integrators, moving the Sunova Solar brand from the 11th position last year to the 5th position in 2023. With more than 1 GW installed in Brazil, this clearly demonstrates the power and dedication of the Brazilian Sunova Solar team towards the industry and its multifaceted stakeholders.
Having shipped nearly 1 GW of modules to Brazil in 2022 places Sunova Solar on the 7th position of imported modules volume, which represents more than 5% of the market share, based on 17.8 GW of modules imported in 2022. Greener states in its study that among the 71 brands that supplied modules to Brazil, the 10 with the highest volume were responsible for 81% of the total number of modules imported. Sunova Solar is proud to be a member of this group.
The imported volume grew 71% in 2022 compared to 2021 and represents an investment of more than R$64 billion (€ 11.6 billion) for distributed generation and large-scale solar PV plants. The reduction of 85% in international freight in January 2023 compared to January 2022 positively impacts the import costs, as did the devaluation of the dollar and the general drop in FOB module prices. In total, these effects led to a reduction of 20% of the modules costs throughout 2022. With 49%, the residential market is the biggest sector in Brazil, followed by 29% of commercial installations and 15% of rural systems.
The objective of Greener’s study is to show the reality of the Brazilian market, so that it can be a guide to assist in the strategy of all companies in the sector. For this, Greener has the collaboration of thousands of integrators, distributors, manufacturers, and service providers. Greener considers its study to be done by the market for the market and sees its role in collecting, concentrating and validating the information that the entire chain provides with the best of intentions.
