Is It Hard To Invest In RES In Western Europe?

Share

Despite reducing subsidies, Romania remains one of the most attractive country for investments in renewable energies in South East Europe. Proof ? Only in the last 8 months, Romania has added 850 MW installed PV capacity. For 2014, it is envisaged an increased installed capacity by 60% compared to 2013, which would make Romania reach a total of about 10 TWh.

Four reasons to invest in Romania 1. Low labor costs. 2. Romania, the largest country in South Eastern Europe, as population and the RES potential, according to RECAI report. ( Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index by EY ) 3. Energy infrastructure. By the end of 2013, the energy produced from renewable sources was of 4,255 MWh, representing an increase of 82% compared to 2012. This means that in 2014 will be invested in energy infrastructure, storage, transport and energy smart monitoring. In 2013, Romania exported 660 GWh and it is expected a rising of energy export in 2014. 4. Starting from 2014, feed-in tariffs will appear. According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation – ANRE, in 2014, in Romania will be given significant subsidies to private households and small companies for producing electricity on the roofs and for PV installations under 1 MW, for small hydropower and wind energy under 1 MW.

Also at under 2 MW capacity, will be given subsidies for biomass and biogas plants.
