Saudi Arabia announces new Renewable Energy initiative

KACARE today announced that it will be holding a Renewable Energy Information Workshop in Riyadh on 20 – 21 November 2017.

KACARE's Renewable Energy Technology Localization and Commercialization Program is an initiative designed to deliver a number of outcomes including accelerating and diversifying the growth of the local Renewable Energy sector and supporting local Saudi companies in developing new Renewable Energy products, applications and services.

The workshop on 20-21 November will be an opportunity for all participating companies to hear the KACARE Project Managers present on potential technology areas. It will give companies an opportunity to present feedback and assist in finalising an efficient and effective RFP process and will be an excellent industry networking opportunity.

The final Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued in December 2017 and will allow bidders to propose innovative projects that lead to sustainable competitiveness for their organizations in the quickly-developing RE sector.

The RFP will provide for full and open competition. It will encourage small businesses to become involved in developing projects and particularly welcome joint proposals from consortia of local, international and academic organizations. The indicative total value of the work program is approximately SAR 800 million. Successful projects will be delivered no later than 31 December, 2020.
