The knowledge service provider Solarpraxis AG has published the first comprehensive market overview of battery storage systems for solar power. Some 80 battery storage systems from 30 different providers are discussed in detail. The market overview appears in the November issue of the trade publication pv magazine.
Many consumers have a hard time getting their heads around the rapidly growing power storage market. This new market overview finally offers an orientation to that market. The questionnaire which forms the basis of the market overview was developed with the help of engineers at Solarpraxis AG together with industry experts and contains more than 100 questions.
The market overview not only lists system characteristics and prices, but also details about feed-in issues and energy management. It also offers important information about correct system dimensions, as well as selection criteria which customers can use to find the right storage solution for them. Although the range of energy storage systems is increasing, the technology needs a boost to find its way quickly into everyday applications.
"In order to make energy storage systems marketable as quickly as possible, we are calling for a 100,000 storage system campaign in Germany similar to the very successful 100,000 roof programme for photovoltaic systems," says Karl-Heinz Remmers, the CEO of Solarpraxis AG and publisher of pv magazine.
The previous program was funded through low interest loans and grants by the German Federal Reconstruction Loan Corporation (KfW). "These incentives can be created without any special energy storage legislation. Together with the incentives we would like to see a parallel scientific research program established to sustainably promote the new energy economy," says Remmers.
