WHES Receives TÜV SÜD Certification for Single-Phase Residential All-in-One Energy Storage System
The certification confirms compliance with key grid and safety requirements, including Spain’s NTS V2.1, RD 1699-2011, RD 647-2020, RD 413-2014, UNE 217002:2020, UNE 217001 and RD 244 standards, as well as the UK’s G100 requirements.
The certification ceremony was attended by Zhao Kai, Technical Manager of Smart Energy at TÜV SÜD, and Sun Pengfei, Vice President of WHES, who jointly marked this important milestone.
The successful certification of WHES’ PP-S2 residential all-in-one energy storage system in accordance with Spanish grid connection standards and UK G100 requirements further strengthens the product’s compliance credentials for the European market. It also reflects the company’s proven capabilities in grid integration, product reliability, and the successful deployment of residential energy storage solutions.
Spain’s NTS V2.1, RD 1699-2011, RD 647-2020, RD 413-2014, UNE 217002:2020, UNE 217001 and RD 244 standards establish rigorous requirements for grid-connected inverters, covering key technical parameters such as frequency response, voltage regulation and fault ride-through performance. Meanwhile, the UK G100 standard defines requirements for export limitation and power control, enabling renewable energy systems to comply with distribution network constraints and facilitating smoother grid integration.
Designed for residential energy storage applications, the PP-S2 supports up to 200% PV oversizing, helping homeowners maximize solar self-consumption and energy independence. With an on/off-grid switching time of less than 10 milliseconds, it ensures a seamless and reliable power supply during grid outages.
Safety is a core feature of the system. An integrated aerosol fire suppression module can rapidly respond to thermal runaway events, suppressing potential risks within seconds. For demanding climates, an optional smart heating module enables stable operation at temperatures as low as -20°C.
The PP-S2 also prioritizes ease of installation and user convenience. Its wireless streamlined architecture, stackable design, plug-and-play terminals and integrated electricity meter significantly reduce wiring complexity, cutting installation time by up to 75% compared with conventional systems.
To accommodate growing energy demands, the system supports up to four battery modules per unit, while as many as five units can be connected in parallel, providing a maximum capacity of 50kW/100kWh. This scalable design makes the solution suitable for both residential and light commercial applications.
For intelligent energy management, the PP-S2 integrates WHES’ self-developed ECOS Home Smart Energy Management System together with the WHES AI+ mode. By analyzing dynamic electricity tariffs, solar generation forecasts and household consumption patterns, the system automatically optimizes charging and discharging strategies to enhance energy efficiency and maximize economic returns for users.
This certification confirms that the PP-S2 meets the stringent technical and compliance requirements for the European market, further supporting the large-scale deployment of WHES’ residential energy storage solutions across the region.
Zhao Kai congratulated WHES on the achievement and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the two organizations. He noted: “The PP-S2’s compliance with Spanish grid codes and UK G100 requirements demonstrates that its grid integration capabilities and overall safety performance meet the expectations of the European market. This TÜV SÜD certification reflects the product’s strong technical foundation and provides a solid basis for its expansion across Europe and other international markets. We look forward to further strengthening our cooperation and supporting the ongoing advancement of energy storage technologies.”
Sun Pengfei commented: “TÜV SÜD has been a trusted partner throughout this process. This certification is a strong endorsement of the PP-S2’s performance, quality and reliability. Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen our presence in Europe, expand our local support capabilities, and deliver safer, smarter and more efficient energy storage solutions to support the global transition toward sustainable energy.”
