SolarPower Europe’s industrial strategy is almost ready

At the Solar Power Summit in Brussels today, the industry group said it is preparing to launch a supply-side oriented industrial policy for the PV sector in Europe. The manufacturing sector on the continent has been hard hit since 2012, and has been buffeted by a range of unfavorable policy decisions.

Rystad Energy: 83% of Australian utility scale pipeline to deploy tracking

Single-axis tracking technology will be deployed in the vast majority of Australian large scale solar projects currently under development. Rystad Energy made the observation in its latest research note, adding that at present two companies share 90% of the confirmed orders.

India: Rooftop PV targets missed, ground-mounted and off-grid exceeded

In the past financial year, India missed its rooftop solar PV targets, although it did exceed those for both grid-connected ground-mounted and off-grid systems, reports the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Bridge to India believes the government’s rooftop targets have been set at the wrong level and that around 10 GW will be installed by 2022, rather than 40 GW.

India: Utility-scale solar plants completed in Odisha, Karnataka

IBC Solar has completed the installation of a 27 MW solar PV plant in the state of Odisha, while Sunsure Energy installed 20 MW across two plants in Karnataka.

Victoria announces 650 MW auction, new targets

The state government of Victoria has launched a tender for 650 MW of solar and wind capacity — which it claims is the biggest renewables auction in Australia — in support of fresh legislation that will set new renewables targets through 2025.

IBC Solar signs contract with SECI for 20 MW solar plant in India

The large-scale project will be owned and developed by IBC solar in Odisha.
