About this webinar

Soiling, dust and dirt gathering on a PV module’s surface, is often in the picture when a PV power plant is not performing as expected. In this pv magazine Webinar we examine the realities of operating in a high soiling environment, and the need to carefully quantify related performance impacts and manage the economics of cleaning.

For solar projects around the world, soiling losses add up to billions of dollars every year. Solutions are available in the form of various anti-soiling coatings and cleaning methods, but the cost of implementing these needs to be carefully weighed against the losses caused by soiling – which can be more complex than it sounds.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss the realities of operating PV projects under different soiling conditions, and hear the asset manager’s perspective on performance losses, where they come from and what they cost.

Bruno Queiroz, Chief Operating Officer at Chemitek, will share insights from conversations with asset managers responsible for several hundred megawatts of PV installed across Europe and Asia. And he’ll share data from a long-term outdoor study conducted at Green Energy Park, Ben Guerir, Morocco.

Swapnil Papinwar, CEO of Technocorn Technical Services, will also join to share insights on modelling PV performance, isolating the effects of soiling, and making effective use of measures like anti-soiling coatings and manual or automated cleaning.

Webinar content:

  • Performance losses and what they cost
  • Quantifying soiling and assessing cleaning economics
  • Case study & field evidence
  • Q&A
