Upsolar expands Italian presence

Headquartered in Treviso, near Venice, the company says the office will serve as the hub of its various projects throughout the country.

“Strengthened by a national feed-in tariff, the Italian solar PV market has shown exceptional growth in recent years and was a clear choice for Upsolar’s expansion. Our newly established facility will allow Upsolar to provide Italian customers with the service for which Upsolar has begun to build a name,” commented Enrico Carniato, Upsolar Italia general manager.

Representing its first project, Upsolar Italia provided polycrystalline PV modules for the Alessandria project, which is the first solar undertaking for Ansaldo T&D, a Genoa-based engineering and contracting company. It has been said that the project is one of the largest installations in the region.

“Embarking on our first venture into the solar arena – especially with a project of this magnitude – we recognized the importance of partnering with a reliable module producer,” Massimo Ceroni, Ansaldo T&D sales and marketing manager, said. “Upsolar’s high-quality polycrystalline modules are ideally suited to large PV power stations like the Alessandria park, and the support provided by their attentive team allowed for a seamless entry into the burgeoning Italian solar market. We look forward to additional collaborations in the future.”
