Follow the sun

Rotating solar houses: Buildings that follow the sun also follow a trend. This year, four new buildings whose roofs track the sun were built in an industrial area in the spa town of Bad Windsheim, Germany.

“Tomorrow may rain, so I’ll follow the sun,” sang the Beatles back in 1964. Today, even houses can do that. The idea isn’t new; in 1994, solar architect Rolf Disch of Freiburg, Germany, designed and built the Heliotrope, the prototype for all rotating solar buildings.
