The heavy hitters: full utilization and expanding

c-Si industry ranking: There has been a shuffling amongst the top 10 crystalline silicon module manufacturers since our ranking last year, however the trend remains the same. Asia is now cemented as the leading module manufacturing base, and with the Japanese and Chinese markets the two drivers for growth for the top 10 players, that should come as no surprise.

Sometimes it helps to look backwards in order to go forwards. In 2012 sales revenues from the top 10 crystalline silicon (c-Si) module manufacturers had collapsed 25% from 2011, utilization stood at around 56% and profitable players were the exception rather than the rule.
