Matt Card is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Suniva, America’s oldest and largest producer of photovoltaic solar cells. One of Suniva’s first dozen employees, Matt has been instrumental in building Suniva’s worldwide presence since 2008, having led or managed the development of many of the company’s key customer relationships, and has been deeply involved in the ongoing evolution of U.S. solar trade policy and domestic manufacturing regulations. During his tenure as President and Chief Operating Officer, Suniva grew to become the largest merchant manufacturer of photovoltaic cells in the United States – culminating in 2024, as Suniva rebuilt and relaunched its Norcross, Georgia, manufacturing facility, becoming the first expansion of U.S. solar cell manufacturing in almost a decade. The company now looks to expand further, as it has announced I’st second U.S. factory – a 4.5GW facility in Laurens, South Carolina, planned to open in Q2 202,7 bringing Suniva to approximately 5.5GW of domestic merchant cell capacity.
