Ronnie Pettersson
Ronnie Pettersson is Vice President of Product and Application Engineering at FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc., where he leads product strategy and engineering initiatives for residential energy storage and grid-connected energy management solutions. He has been actively involved in implementing industry interoperability standards, including OpenADR and IEEE 2030.5, while overseeing numerous utility, inverter, and third-party system integrations.
A long-time contributor to the distributed energy ecosystem, Ronnie was an early participant in SunSpec as a founding member and has contributed to multiple industry standards and regulatory initiatives, including SunSpec Modbus, OpenFMB, IEEE 1547, the California Solar Initiative, and the California Rule 21 Smart Inverter Working Group.
Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Ronnie has led product and engineering organizations at FranklinWH, ABB, Power-One, and several technology startups, delivering cloud platforms, IoT solutions, smart energy products, and industrial automation systems. His experience spans residential energy storage, distributed energy resources, IoT connectivity, cloud platforms, and interoperability across utilities, devices, and software ecosystems.
Ronnie holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and has lived in Silicon Valley since 1998.
