AlphaESS presents STORION-LC-TB150 C&I storage system at ESS Europe Munich
AlphaESS presented its STORION-LC-TB150 commercial and industrial energy storage system at ESS Europe Munich, positioning the product around low-noise operation, safety, intelligent energy management and flexible deployment for European C&I applications.
The system is a 150 kW / 313 kWh all-in-one liquid-cooled energy storage system designed for commercial buildings, logistics parks, offices, communities and industrial sites. It also features AlphaESS’s latest-generation cabinet design, giving the system a more technology-led appearance.
According to AlphaESS, the system keeps operating noise as low as ≤60 dB(A), supported by full liquid cooling and optimised thermal design. By improving heat transfer efficiency and reducing reliance on high-speed airflow, STORION-LC-TB150 is designed for quieter operation in noise-sensitive environments and could give project owners more flexibility when installing systems close to business operations.
Safety is also a core part of the product design. STORION-LC-TB150 meets the unit-level performance criteria of UL 9540A fire testing and uses a cell-pack-cabinet protection architecture. The system combines BMS millisecond-level detection with cell fault alerts and short-circuit protection, helping identify risks at an early stage. At cell level, aerogel isolation is used to help prevent thermal propagation between cells, while MSD protection allows the high-voltage circuit to be manually disconnected for safer transport and maintenance. At pack level, aerosol suppression is designed to help stop thermal runaway propagation inside the pack.At the cabinet level, STORION-LC-TB150 integrates temperature, smoke and combustible gas detectors, safeguarding your assets. When danger strikes, aerosol and water fire – fighting systems activate instantly. Together with the NFPA68 – top vent panel, fire risks are curbed promptly.
For long-term operation, TB150 is designed with up to 12,000 cycles, which AlphaESS says is 50% higher than the industry average, helping reduce lifecycle energy costs and improve asset ROI for commercial and industrial users. Its intelligent EMS supports dynamic tariff optimisation and imbalance trading, enabling businesses to charge when electricity costs are lower and discharge when energy value is higher. Cell-level active balancing is designed to reduce cell inconsistency, maximise usable capacity and maintain stable battery performance over time.
The system adopts a highly integrated, factory pre-assembled all-in-one cabinet
design, with key components pre-configured before delivery to simplify transportation, installation and maintenance. Forklift handling and a footprint of less than 2 m² further help accelerate on-site deployment. The EMS 5.0 platform enables system monitoring, alerts, fault detection and remote upgrades, helping operators reduce O&M complexity, lower maintenance costs and optimise the asset financial model.
TB150 can scale from a single 150 kW / 313 kWh cabinet to a 25-cabinet on-grid configuration, reaching up to 3.75 MW / 7.8 MWh for larger C&I projects. For backup applications, four cabinets with STS can form a 600 kW / 1.13 MWh microgrid, with backup switchover within ≤20 ms to help reduce power interruption risks for production lines and critical loads. In addition, TB150 can be equipped with optional DC/DC modules to support Hybrid Coupled applications, enabling PV retrofits and helping address scenarios where grid congestion can extend approval timelines.
The system is designed for demanding C&I environments, with IP55 protection, C4 corrosion protection and operation from -30°C to 50°C. AlphaESS also supports European customers with on-site service, system monitoring and a defined service workflow.
As energy storage becomes increasingly central to Europe’s energy transition, AlphaESS continues to explore how safer, smarter and more adaptable storage technologies can support a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
