AustrianSolar Chile Seis, SpA , has concluded the engineering, procurement and construction contract plus a long-term operation and maintenance agreement for its PV project La Huella. The company was supported in the contracts agreed for the 86 MW plant north of Santiago by Oppenhoff & Partner. As a result, the transaction with CC-Solar, co-invested by a German pension, fund has been concluded.

Start of construction has been declared and commercial operation is planned for the final quarter of next year.

For CC-Solar it is a first step into Chile. AustrianSolar has closed transactions in Chile for 500 MW, with its first plant supplying energy to the Santiago Metro public transport service. Since 2016, AustrianSolar has developed utility scale wind projects in Chile and it is expecting to start construction in the second half of 2020.

AustrianSolar sees Chile providing long-term growth potential both in PV and wind power and is planning to move also towards green hydrogen production.

Apart of its activities in Chile, AustrianSolar has reactivated its subsidiary in Spain, focusing on industrial solar projects and utility-scale PV plants.
