Danfoss Solar Inverters introduces the new SLX Central inverter series for US utility installations

Designed for the harshest environments Our SLX Series of Utility scale inverters are designed for Sun Belt regions with a product range of 1 MW to 1.5 MW. The SLX was designed with the toughest criteria in mind on all critical components, with a NEMA 4 completely sealed unit and an incredibly robust and reliable inverter built to last for up to 25 years.

The SLX was created to deliver true maximum output power on a continuous basis and withstand even the harshest conditions. Maximum efficiency at high ambient temperatures With this new design concept, the SLX series achieves peak efficiencies up to 98% and works at ambient temperatures of 50°C at maximum efficiency without derating. All of the components remain optimally cooled, due in part to its liquid cooled design for semi-conductors and inductors, which use our patented ShowerPower switching technology.

This integrated technology is equipped with speed-controlled fans and pumps to avoid internal pollution and lengthen maintenance intervals – even in dusty regions. Easy operation and logging An LCD display shows the unit’s operating status, and a built-in data logger records and sends performance and operational data. Offering the best in communication capabilities, the SLX allows pyronometer, wind-speed indicator, and temperature sensors to work in parallel. All data is recorded and stored from each unit to be transmitted daily via modem or an optional Internet connection.

Versatile and economical Danfoss SLX inverters are easy to use, flexible to integrate and simple to install – all while keeping maintenance low. The SLX central inverter takes the pain out of installation by delivering a pad-mounted solution, which results in a quicker start up time. SLX central inverters are built to reduce total cost of ownership for Utility scale PV power plants. They achieve this through a design that offers faster installation, maximized uptime, and reduced maintenance.
