This installation will be built on the rooftop of a textile factory owned by the Muccillo Group covering an area of about 11,000 sq. m. While bureaucratic and technical difficulties initially caused some delay, the technology team of German Solar System GmbH was able to make up for lost time during the preparation phase, and now the anticipated completion of the project is back on schedule for December.

In partnership with Sovello AG, the rooftop installation in Benevento features a total of 3,800 solar Sovello SV-T-195 modules, six Voltwerk VC WL 110 kW inverters, as well as additional RefuSol 4-string inverters. In addition to assuming responsibility for the planning and supervision of the project, GSS German Solar System GmbH also handles the organization of all required permission procedures and will be in charge of monitoring and maintaining the photovoltaic installation after the system connects to the energy grid. With its Italian subsidiary, GSS is well positioned for this task.

The installation is controlled by an integrated system consisting of weather stations, smart control and monitoring software. Furthermore, the solar rooftop is monitored by CCTV and a security detail at night.

The modules of the solar producer Sovello AG deliver outstanding performance and are highly ecological. In March of this year, they were awarded the designation "Very Good" by the German magazine OKO-TEST. The foundation, especially designed for curved roof segments, allows an almost perfect southern orientation, therefore ensuring a high return for the investors.

GSS’ CEO, Felice Facchiano, is extremely satisfied with the development of the project: "With a great partner like Sovello AG, with such powerful hardware and such a highly motivated and committed team, this project is just a pleasure."

The German Solar System GmbH continues to look for land, rooftops, industrial complexes as well as existing permits for photovoltaic installation to undertake future projects in Italy.

According to the European Photovoltaic Association, Italy is one of the most growth-oriented markets in Europe, second only to Germany. In 2009, photovoltaic installations with an output of 711 Megawatts were installed in Italy. In September 2010, the "Conto Energia III" was passed with the goal to streamline the Italian government assistance program, and even with its minor reductions, this legislation ensures that Italy remains an attractive location for photovoltaic projects in Europe.
