Module manufacturer Innotech Solar has received three important certificates: ISO 9001 for its quality management system, ISO 14001 for its environmental management system and OHSAS 18001 for its occupational health and safety management system. These certificates form part of the Norwegian companys ongoing endeavors to optimize the standards of quality and sustainability at its production site in Halle an der Saale, Germany, as well as those in Norway and Sweden.
Innotech Solars unique business model combines customer focus with a technique of refining solar cells in a way that conserves energy and materials as well as with solar module manufacture. Here we employ several testing and optimization processes both at cell and module level, which help us to ensure our standards of quality, environmental protection and safety, and to develop them ever further. This certification from TÜV Rheinland is confirmation from an independent third party that our integrated management system works as effectively as it should. We see this as the product of our hard work and are extremely pleased to receive it, states Jörg Wiesner, Head of Quality at Innotech Solar.
In addition to certification of its integrated management system, Innotech Solar has also submitted its cells and modules to various tests by independent experts, including the Photovoltaik-Institut Berlin, the Fraunhofer Institute and the Max Planck Institute. ITS modules are certified according to the industrial standards IEC 61215 and IEC 61730.
Certificates have also been obtained for the British MCS standard as well as for resistance to ammonia and salt mist. Innotech Solar is the only PV module manufacturer to carry out a hot spot prevention procedure, in which two thermal images are taken of each cell before and after optimization. Furthermore, regular quality control checks are performed on the cell and module production lines and durability tests are also completed.
