The promotion to president Suntech Europe comes in light of major changes in the company’s leadership to establish a strong organization structure for future growth. Mr. David Hogg, the former head of Suntech Europe, has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Suntech global headquarters in Wuxi In his new role, he will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the organization, including management of resources, shipment and customer services.

In his previous position as vice president of Business Development and Strategy for Europe, Stokes was in charge of the growth of Suntech’s business and strategic direction in the region. He joined Suntech in 2007 through the company’s acquisition of MSK Corporation. At MSK, one of Japan's largest PV manufacturers, he served as vice president of International Sales and Marketing. Stokes previously worked as sales and marketing director of AEA Technology Battery Systems and as a sales director with the Battery division of Sanyo Energy UK. He holds an Honours degree in Metallurgy from Brunel University in England.

“I am honored to have been entrusted with this responsibility and look forward to further strengthening Suntech’s leading position in the industry. While other regions are also growing extremely quickly, Europe remains our strongest and most important region. Continuing to pursue our growth strategy together with our partners here is a key element of our global expansion strategy”, said Stokes. He adds: “I intend to continue on the successful path taken by my predecessor David Hogg and would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his many accomplishments on behalf of our growing European team.”
