During the ceremony, a test report was presented on-site by Mr. Josh Dinaburg, Fire Testing Specialist at CSA Group, to Mr. Carl Yang, General Manager of ESS Products at Jinko ESS.The first large-scale-fire-test report issued by CSA Group following the release of the latest edition of the UL 9540A draft, and confirms that Jinko ESS's SunTera liquid-cooling energy storage system has successfully contained fire within a single enclosure, preventing any propagaton to adjacent units, validating its system-level safety performance.

During the ceremony, a video of the large-scale fire test was showcased, showing the extreme test scenario conducted on February 10, 2026, at a professional testing facility in Suzhou, Anhui Province. Four SunTera energy systems were deployed following a real-world plant layout, with an ultra-tight spacing of just 15 cm. Under the most stringent conditions—including disabled active fire suppression systems, no human intervention, and 100% state of charge (SOC)—the initiating unit had flame temperatures over 1,000℃. Meanwhile, the maximum cell temperature in adjacent units remained below 51.3℃, well below the thermal runaway threshold outlined in UL 9540A. The spread of the fire was limited to a single enclosure, was effectively contained within a single unit, demonstrating fire containment capability and resistance to thermal runaway propagation at the system level.

Mr.Wu Wei, Commercial Director of Industrial Unit, CSA Group China commented,“The test was conducted in accordance with the CSA C800 standard and the recently released UL 9540A 6th edition draft. With rigorous test conditions and thorough data collection, the results demonstrate that SunTera system effectively mitigates fire spread risks. This validates that Jinko ESS's system-level fire safety design meets the applicable global standards and regularotry requirements.”

Mr. Carl Yang, Product General Manager of Jinko ESS stated,“As a globally recognized certification body, CSA Group plays a critical role in verifying fire safety through rigorous evaluation and certification. This certification confirms our capability to help deliver energy storage solutions that are validated under extreme conditions. Moving forward, we will continue to leverage extreme testing to transform edge-case scenarios into standard design considerations—advancing energy storage safety from a qualitative promise to a quantifiable, engineered outcome.”

This large-scale fire test represents another significant step for Jinko ESS in advancing the global safety standard framework for energy storage systems. By continuously exploring the safety standard framework through engineering-driven validation, Jinko ESS remains committed to safety—ensuring that every solution delivered is grounded in reliability, predictability, and control.
