JinkoSolar Tiger Neo Leads the Industry Benchmarks in 2023

Let’s dive a bit deeper and look into how Tiger Neo battles it out in 2023.

Top tier Solar manufacturers have been pushing the envelope when it comes to panel power and performance for years now. Without the intense competition between these solar giants in those early years, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Among them, JinkoSolar particularly pretty much pioneered N-type Topcon technology and production and was closely followed by the majority of peers. Some however went sideways for the roadmap, struggling to keep up with N-type Topcon’s performance, for example, HJT, HPBC, or other technology.

Efficiency and Power Benchmark

Jinkosolar’s upcoming Tiger Neo 54R topped the ranks of 445Wp / 22.27%, 615Wp/ 23.23%, 635Wp/22.72% module power and efficiency. This performance gap with its N-type competitors became somewhat of a tradition, with JinkoSolar managing to stay a step ahead of competitors when it came to top-tier performance.

Temperature Co-efficiency

Tiger Neo panel was JinkoSolar’s best-ever product. Not only the highest efficiency and power, but a 5-10% uplift in generation performance over 30 years is also horrendous. It looks even better when its latest version offers a -0.29% temperature coefficient, while its n-Topcon counterparts are above -0.3%.

Bifacial Factor

That said, the efficiency and power density was only one factor in the widespread adoption of JinkoSolar’s n-type Tiger Neo panels in the utility and C&I market, bifacial factor of up to 85% is another crucial advantage that lets developers effectively leverage rear side contributions of generation. So it is perfect for tracking and ground of high Albedo (for example white painted rooftop) scenario. Utility customers heavily favored N-type Topcon solutions because another technology has a much lower bifacial factor of only 60%.

Inverter Compatibility

For the residential panel, an optimized lower short circuit current of 13.93A ensures comprehensive inverter compatibility of Tiger Neo 54 half-cut cell module, which means customers can pair the highest-efficiency panels with the highest-efficiency inverters maximizing system output. Not all N-type TOPCon panels of similar size can achieve Isc within 14A which is defined as the comfortable current which ensures adaptability to most mainstream residential inverter brands.

Degradation and Warranty

1% initial year degradation plus 0.4% linear degradation of Tiger Neo allows an industry-leading power warranty of 30 years and a product warranty of 15 years.

Customers got busy figuring out whether the N-type TOPCon panel degrades slower than its counterpart. At the same time, professionals wondered whether Topcon technology could help them work longer. The answer to the first question in most cases is ‘sure, if you look close enough,’ the TOPCon panel is 50% less degraded than both P-type conventional and other new technology panels. And the answer to the second question turned out to be – ‘wow, definitely yes.’ TOPCon panel offers 15 years’ product warranty and 30 years power warranty

Packing/HQ/ kW

The difference? Well, the number tells it best. When you look at the packing capacity of 54 cell panels, there is no match for Tiger Neo which contains 416.5kW/ HQ.

182” vs 210”

No matter how 210” managed to claw back some lost ground, its showing is far from impressive, particularly in the DG market. Tiger Neo will completely obliterate the 210” counterparts with its top-tier 54R series. Even in the mainstream offerings, Tiger Neo 182” offers a better product outperforming similarly-priced 210” counterparts. An adaptable size and design of Tiger Neo 54R (182” wafer)of 445 Wp that enables installation on almost any roof type, whether it’s shingled, flat tile, or curved tile.

Yes, the latest Tiger Neo 2023 version datasheet numbers look awful if you compare the performance with its counterparts. The performance is basically what you get now, but things might improve as add scale, technology maturity, production capacity, yield rate, secured supply chain, applications adding optimization for Tiger Neo.
